Fraoch

I guess I should explain a little of why I chose to use the name Fraoch with my blog address. Part of my heritage and ancestry is Dutch, something that I am proud to admit. My dad, who was born in Holland has always been my hero. The other half of my ancestry comes from the UK. My grandfather's family was from Scotland, my grandmother's family was from England and Wales.

My first name is a Scottish one, Heather. My hero father - remember he is Dutch - is the person who blessed me with my first name. I have grown up loving my name as much as I love my dad. My second name is Roelina. It is Dutch and my mom - she's the one with the UK heritage - is the one who gave it to me.

A few years ago my dear hubby decided that he was going to follow his biological heritage and learn some Gaelic. Gaelic being a language that only about 6% of the population of Scotland speaks it seemed like an outlandish idea. But as I always do, I supported him in this endeavor. I learned that my first name, when said in Gaelic, is Fraoch. I use the name Fraoch for a number of things on the web, including my passion of writing the files that create Stationery for Outlook Express and Windows Mail. I am sure that somewhere down the line I will share more about this passion.

Anyway, I look forward to being able to tell anyone who reads this, all about my family, my hobbies and anything else that is truly important to me.

Take care and God bless!
